Route facts

The route from Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park

Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park in Rust is about 235 kilometres and roughly two and a quarter hours of driving. From the terminal the car heads south on the A 5, passes Darmstadt via the A 67 and swings around Mannheim on the A 6 before rejoining the A 5.

After that the route stays on one axis all the way: Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Offenburg, Lahr, Ettenheim – the Upper Rhine plain with the Black Forest on the right and Alsace beyond the river on the left. The car leaves the motorway at the Rust exit, and the resort is only a few minutes further.

Meet and greet at Frankfurt Airport

Your driver waits with a name sign in the arrivals hall of your terminal as soon as you are through baggage reclaim and customs. We track the actual landing time from your flight number, so a delay moves the pickup without you having to do anything.

You then walk to the vehicle together and the driver takes the luggage. For families with tired children this is the point where the journey calms down: child seats are already fitted if they were booked in advance.

Arriving at Europa-Park

We set you down at the address you give inside the resort – the forecourt of your hotel, the park entrance, or a holiday apartment in Rust, Ringsheim or Ettenheim.

That removes the last and usually most tiring leg: no change from train to bus at Ringsheim, no waiting at a stop with luggage. Landing in the early evening, most guests still make hotel check-in and a first look at the grounds.

What makes Europa-Park

Europa-Park in Rust is Germany's largest theme park and one of the most visited in Europe, laid out in themed areas that recreate European countries from Italy and Scandinavia to Iceland. Rollercoasters such as Silver Star, Blue Fire and Wodan sit alongside the Rulantica water world and several large themed hotels.

The setting is part of the appeal: Rust lies in the Ortenau district right by the Rhine, opposite Rhinau in Alsace, with the Black Forest in view and both Freiburg and Strasbourg close at hand. Many families therefore combine the park with a few days in the Breisgau or across the river in France.

Practical notes for the trip to Rust

When booking, give your flight number, the name of your resort hotel and the number and ages of any children so the right child seats are prepared. Please also mention pushchairs, buggies and larger cases – with families the boot fills quickly.

In high season and at weekends the A 5 between Frankfurt and Karlsruhe is the slowest section, and we factor that in before departure. Park opening hours and hotel check-in times are easy to align with the driving time if you tell us about them when booking.

Comparison

Transfer, taxi or train from Europa-Park?

A taxi from the airport runs its meter over all 235 kilometres, while our transfer fixes the amount at booking whatever time your aircraft actually touches down. Rail means a long-distance train towards Freiburg or Offenburg, a regional train to Ringsheim and finally the shuttle bus to the park – three changes with children and holiday luggage. A rental car puts you behind the wheel straight after the flight and then into the resort car parks, whereas the transfer meets you in arrivals and stops at your hotel entrance in Rust.

Timing

When to set off from Europa-Park

For the 235 km to Frankfurt your driver allows around 144 minutes of actual driving plus roughly 30 minutes of buffer for rush hour, roadworks and the terminal approach. To make a Schengen flight, that means leaving Europa-Park about 4 h 54 min before departure; for long-haul and non-Schengen, about 5 h 54 min.

You do not have to do that arithmetic yourself. Enter your departure time and address and the booking form proposes the pickup time — driving time, buffer and terminal lead are already inside it. If you would rather leave earlier, overwrite the suggestion.

In the other direction the arithmetic disappears anyway: for an airport pickup the time hangs on your flight number, not the clock. Your driver tracks the actual landing, and 60 minutes of waiting from touchdown are included.

What's included

What the price covers on this route

The fixed price for Europa-Park – Frankfurt Airport covers all 235 km, plus tolls and road charges en route, the airport access and short-stay parking at pickup. What you pay is settled before you book — there is no meter and no surcharge that only appears as you get out.

The price is independent of the clock as well. The same route costs the same at three in the morning as on a Wednesday afternoon, the same on public holidays as on working days, and there is no demand surcharge during trade fairs. The only things that move it are ones you choose: a stop along the way, a larger vehicle class, or the return leg.

Every passenger is welcome — regardless of background, gender, identity or orientation; our drivers are explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly. Pets travel when the species and size are noted at booking, and guide and assistance dogs with no notice and no surcharge.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does the transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park take?

The drive from Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park takes about 144 minutes for 235 km in normal traffic. That is measured from the meeting point inside the terminal, not from touchdown.

Where does my driver meet me at Terminal 1 or 3?

The meeting point is the arrivals hall of your terminal — your driver stands just beyond the customs exit holding a name sign and walks you to the vehicle. The terminal follows from the flight number you give when booking, and a diversion to 1 or 3 still gets you found.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Pickup is linked to your flight number and shifts automatically with the actual landing time — at no extra charge. 60 minutes of waiting are included after touchdown so baggage reclaim and passport control are covered.

How much is a transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park?

The fixed price for the 235 km route is shown in the booking form before you book and never changes afterwards — regardless of traffic, time of day, weekday or how long the drive actually takes. It depends on the vehicle class and the distance, not on a meter.

What does the fixed price include?

It covers the 235 km drive, tolls and road charges en route, airport fees, and 60 minutes of waiting from the landing time. The price only moves for things you choose yourself — a stop along the way, a larger vehicle class or a return leg — and each is shown in the form before you confirm.

Does the ride cost more at night or on public holidays?

The fixed price applies whatever the clock says: Europa-Park – Frankfurt Airport costs the same at three in the morning as on a Wednesday afternoon. There is no night, weekend or holiday surcharge, and no demand pricing during trade fairs. Booking and driving run 24/7.

How much luggage fits in each vehicle?

The sedan classes take 4 large suitcases plus 2 cabin bags; the Business Van takes 12 suitcases plus 5 cabin bags for up to 8 passengers. Declare oversized items such as skis, a golf bag or a pushchair when booking so the right class is dispatched.

Is this a taxi or a chauffeur service?

This is a chauffeur service: the journey is booked in advance, the price is fixed before you book and no meter runs. Your driver wears a suit, greets you by name and helps with the luggage — in the Business and First Class categories it is a limousine service with a Mercedes E- or S-Class. You hail a taxi at a rank; a chauffeur waits for you at the terminal with a name sign. That makes the transfer the fixed-price alternative to a Frankfurt Airport taxi for Europa-Park.

Transfer or train from Europa-Park?

The train is cheaper per person, the transfer per vehicle — with two travellers and luggage the comparison usually flips. The transfer covers the 235 km in about 144 minutes with no changes and ends at your address rather than a station; travelling alone with hand luggage and a good connection, the train is often the better call.

Can I travel with a dog or a cat?

Pets are welcome. State the species and size when booking so the right vehicle class is dispatched for Europa-Park — small animals travel in a carrier in the footwell, larger dogs in the load area of a van. Guide dogs and assistance dogs travel in every vehicle, with no advance notice and no surcharge.

Can I pay the driver by card?

Card payment is accepted directly in the vehicle — as is cash or paying online in advance, and business customers can be invoiced. You receive a receipt with VAT shown either way.

Can I travel with an infant or child seat?

A child seat, booster or infant carrier is selected during booking and fitted by the driver before pickup. State the child's age so the correct size group is installed.

Can I book this transfer for someone else?

The booking runs in the passenger's name rather than the payer's — your guest, client or family member is met at the terminal with a name sign. Payment and the receipt stay with you. Add the passenger's flight number and mobile so flight tracking and contact both work.

Who is the service for?

Every passenger is welcome — regardless of background, gender, identity or orientation. Our drivers are explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly: couples, families of every shape, women travelling alone and guests who need assistance are driven with exactly the same matter-of-factness as anyone else. Discretion is part of a chauffeur service in any case.
