The route from Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park

Frankfurt Airport to Europa-Park in Rust is about 235 kilometres and roughly two and a quarter hours of driving. From the terminal the car heads south on the A 5, passes Darmstadt via the A 67 and swings around Mannheim on the A 6 before rejoining the A 5.

After that the route stays on one axis all the way: Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden, Offenburg, Lahr, Ettenheim – the Upper Rhine plain with the Black Forest on the right and Alsace beyond the river on the left. The car leaves the motorway at the Rust exit, and the resort is only a few minutes further.

What makes Europa-Park

Europa-Park in Rust is Germany's largest theme park and one of the most visited in Europe, laid out in themed areas that recreate European countries from Italy and Scandinavia to Iceland. Rollercoasters such as Silver Star, Blue Fire and Wodan sit alongside the Rulantica water world and several large themed hotels.

The setting is part of the appeal: Rust lies in the Ortenau district right by the Rhine, opposite Rhinau in Alsace, with the Black Forest in view and both Freiburg and Strasbourg close at hand. Many families therefore combine the park with a few days in the Breisgau or across the river in France.

Practical notes for the trip to Rust

When booking, give your flight number, the name of your resort hotel and the number and ages of any children so the right child seats are prepared. Please also mention pushchairs, buggies and larger cases – with families the boot fills quickly.

In high season and at weekends the A 5 between Frankfurt and Karlsruhe is the slowest section, and we factor that in before departure. Park opening hours and hotel check-in times are easy to align with the driving time if you tell us about them when booking.
