Route facts

The route: Frankfurt Airport to Rheine

Leaving the airport, the drive follows the A 5 north, joins the A 45 beyond Gießen through the Siegerland and the Sauerland, then skirts the Ruhr area and continues on the A 1 towards Münster. Past Münster the A 1 stays with you until the Rheine exits near Salzbergen.

That works out at about 331 kilometres and roughly 3 hours 45 minutes from arrivals hall to front door. Late in the evening the run is noticeably calmer than in the Dortmund rush hour.

Meet and greet in arrivals

Your driver waits in the arrivals hall of your terminal holding a name sign, takes the luggage and walks you to the car. We hold your flight number, so a delay simply moves the pickup rather than losing it.

After a connecting flight through Frankfurt this is the easy part of the day: no ticket to buy, no connection to chase, no platform to stand on.

Arriving in Rheine

We drop you at the address you gave us in Rheine, whether a house, a hotel or a company site, and carry the luggage to the door. Destinations in the neighbouring towns of Salzbergen, Neuenkirchen, Spelle or Hörstel work without a detour.

For night arrivals that is the decisive difference: the car takes you all the way into the Münsterland instead of leaving you at the last station the timetable still reaches.

Settling into Rheine

Rheine straddles the Ems, and the river still shapes how the town spends its free time: the Ems cycle route runs straight through, Bentlage Monastery with its saltworks park and graduation tower sits in green space to the north, and the NaturZoo with its walk-in monkey forest is one of the best-known days out in the region.

Business travellers know Rheine as an industrial and logistics location with a long textile past; private visitors use it as a quiet base between the Münsterland, the Teutoburg Forest and the Dutch border just west of town.

Worth knowing

File your flight number and terminal and the driver will still be there if the aircraft touches down late in Frankfurt. For arrivals after midnight a transfer is effectively the only through option on this route.

Child seats, a van for groups and a stop in Münster or Osnabrück can all be noted when you book.

Also bookable as its own route: Frankfurt Airport to Neuenkirchen (324 km, at a fixed price with real drive-time facts). Every route, fixed price and vehicle class at FR Transfer.

Comparison

Transfer, taxi or train from Rheine?

The train will get you from the long-distance station towards the Münsterland, but it asks for at least one change, luggage up and down stairs, and a timetable that simply stops after midnight. An airport taxi meters the whole 331 kilometres, and a rental car means driving yourself over the A 45 through the Sauerland immediately after a flight. With a fixed-price transfer the amount is agreed at booking, the driver is holding your name in arrivals, and you get out only when the car stops outside your address in Rheine.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does the transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Rheine take?

The drive from Frankfurt Airport to Rheine takes about 226 minutes for 331 km in normal traffic. That is measured from the meeting point inside the terminal, not from touchdown.

Where does my driver meet me at Terminal 1 or 3?

The meeting point is the arrivals hall of your terminal — your driver stands just beyond the customs exit holding a name sign and walks you to the vehicle. The terminal follows from the flight number you give when booking, and a diversion to 1 or 3 still gets you found.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Pickup is linked to your flight number and shifts automatically with the actual landing time — at no extra charge. 60 minutes of waiting are included after touchdown so baggage reclaim and passport control are covered.

How much is a transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Rheine?

The fixed price for the 331 km route is shown in the booking form before you book and never changes afterwards — regardless of traffic, time of day, weekday or how long the drive actually takes. It depends on the vehicle class and the distance, not on a meter.

How much luggage fits in each vehicle?

The sedan classes take 2 large suitcases plus 2 cabin bags; the Business Van takes 7 suitcases plus 5 cabin bags for up to 8 passengers. Declare oversized items such as skis, a golf bag or a pushchair when booking so the right class is dispatched.

Is this a taxi or a chauffeur service?

This is a chauffeur service: the journey is booked in advance, the price is fixed before you book and no meter runs. Your driver wears a suit, greets you by name and helps with the luggage — in the Business and First Class categories it is a limousine service with a Mercedes E- or S-Class. You hail a taxi at a rank; a chauffeur waits for you at the terminal with a name sign. That makes the transfer the fixed-price alternative to a Frankfurt Airport taxi for Rheine.

Can I pay the driver by card?

Card payment is accepted directly in the vehicle — as is cash or paying online in advance, and business customers can be invoiced. You receive a receipt with VAT shown either way.

Can I travel with an infant or child seat?

A child seat, booster or infant carrier is selected during booking and fitted by the driver before pickup. State the child's age so the correct size group is installed.
