The Loreley is about 80 kilometres from Frankfurt Airport, allow roughly 71 minutes. The drive begins with the hairpins down from the plateau to Sankt Goarshausen, then follows the B 42 upstream through Kaub, Lorch and Assmannshausen.

From Rüdesheim the road crosses the Rheingau to Wiesbaden, where the A 66 and then the A 3 speed things up, with the terminal exits shortly after the Wiesbaden interchange. The comparatively long journey time comes from the riverside stretch – only the last part is motorway.

Tips for the departure
