Route facts

The route from Marzahn to Frankfurt Airport

It's about 602 kilometres from Marzahn to Frankfurt Airport, or roughly six hours on the road. The drive starts on the B 158 towards Ahrensfelde and joins the eastern arc of the Berlin ring motorway, the A 10.

From the ring the route runs south on the A 9, crosses on the A 4 and A 7 past Erfurt and Kassel, and finishes on the A 5, which passes the airport directly. Practically the only unpredictable stretch is the ring itself.

Pickup in the district, not a trek to the main station

Your driver comes to your address in Marzahn: the Marzahner Promenade, one of the blocks along the Allee der Kosmonauten, the old village core of Alt-Marzahn, or the edges towards Hellersdorf and Ahrensfelde.

That removes the part of the journey people from eastern Berlin dislike most – dragging cases onto the S-Bahn and across the city to Hauptbahnhof before the real trip has even begun.

Arriving at the Frankfurt terminal

In Frankfurt we pull up on the departures level of your terminal, either Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 depending on the airline. The driver unloads the bags and check-in is a few steps away.

After six hours in the car, what matters is that nothing has to be improvised at the end. The fixed price holds whether or not the last stretch of the A 5 is crawling.

About Marzahn

With around 106,000 residents, Marzahn-Mitte is one of Berlin's most populous localities and far more layered than its reputation suggests. Alongside the large prefab estates of the 1970s and 80s sits Alt-Marzahn, a preserved village centre complete with post mill and village church.

The big draw is the Gärten der Welt on the Kienberg – Chinese, Japanese, Balinese and other themed gardens, plus the cable car up to the Wolkenhain viewing platform, running since the 2017 garden show. Residents mostly fly to visit family; visitors mostly come for the gardens.

Travel tips for departures from Frankfurt

The eastern Berlin ring is the morning bottleneck. For late-morning flights we set the pickup deliberately early rather than betting on the A 10 staying clear between Ahrensfelde and the Schönefeld interchange.

Overnight pickups, by contrast, make this a very reliable run. Send us your flight number and we plan driving time, breaks and terminal buffer in one go.

Transfer, taxi or train from Marzahn?

From Marzahn the rail option means S-Bahn or tram to Berlin Hauptbahnhof, an ICE to Frankfurt and then the walk from the long-distance station into the terminal – three luggage handovers before the flight even starts. A metered taxi over 602 kilometres cannot be planned for in advance, and a rental car raises the awkward question of who returns it. A fixed-price private transfer picks you up outside your building in Marzahn and sets you down on the departures level: one vehicle, one amount, agreed at booking.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does the transfer from Marzahn to Frankfurt Airport take?

The drive from Marzahn to Frankfurt Airport takes about 363 minutes for 602 km in normal traffic. Your driver adds roughly 75 minutes of buffer for rush hour and roadworks.

How early should I leave Marzahn for Frankfurt Airport?

Leave Marzahn about 9 h 18 min before departure for a Schengen flight, or about 10 h 18 min for long-haul. That is 363 minutes of driving, 75 minutes of traffic buffer and 2 or 3 hours at the terminal. The booking form proposes the pickup time for you.

How much is a transfer from Marzahn to Frankfurt Airport?

The fixed price for the 602 km route is shown in the booking form before you book and never changes afterwards — regardless of traffic, time of day, weekday or how long the drive actually takes. It depends on the vehicle class and the distance, not on a meter.

How much luggage fits in each vehicle?

The sedan classes take 2 large suitcases plus 2 cabin bags; the Business Van takes 7 suitcases plus 5 cabin bags for up to 8 passengers. Declare oversized items such as skis, a golf bag or a pushchair when booking so the right class is dispatched.

Is this a taxi or a chauffeur service?

This is a chauffeur service: the journey is booked in advance, the price is fixed before you book and no meter runs. Your driver wears a suit, greets you by name and helps with the luggage — in the Business and First Class categories it is a limousine service with a Mercedes E- or S-Class. You hail a taxi at a rank; a chauffeur is booked to the minute in Marzahn. That makes the transfer the fixed-price alternative to a Frankfurt Airport taxi for Marzahn.

Can I pay the driver by card?

Card payment is accepted directly in the vehicle — as is cash or paying online in advance, and business customers can be invoiced. You receive a receipt with VAT shown either way.

Can I travel with an infant or child seat?

A child seat, booster or infant carrier is selected during booking and fitted by the driver before pickup. State the child's age so the correct size group is installed.

How does free cancellation work?

Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before the agreed pickup time. After that a cancellation fee may apply; at the pickup address in Marzahn 15 minutes of waiting are included, and each further quarter hour is charged at the rate stated in the terms.
