Nürburg in the high Eifel lies around 161 kilometres from Frankfurt Airport, a journey of about one hour and 50 minutes. The first stretch runs on Eifel country roads towards Kelberg before the A 48 is reached.

From there the route passes Koblenz and joins the A 3, which carries you past Montabaur and Limburg an der Lahn and through the Taunus to the airport. The winding opening section is why this trip takes longer than the distance alone suggests.
