The route: Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt

Frankfurt Airport to the exhibition grounds is about 16 kilometres and takes roughly 16 minutes. We run north on the A5 to the Frankfurter Westkreuz, then along Theodor-Heuss-Allee straight to the halls.

That makes the Messe one of the quickest destinations in the whole Rhine-Main region to reach, and it is a large part of why international exhibitors like Frankfurt as a venue. The car stops at whichever entrance you specify.

Meet and greet at Frankfurt Airport

Your driver is waiting with a name sign in the arrivals hall of Terminal 1 (hall A, B or C) or Terminal 3. During fair weeks, when thousands of trade visitors land at once, a fixed meeting point beats any taxi queue.

We monitor your flight number and build delays in. If your stand team arrives on several different flights, we coordinate the pickups so nobody is left waiting alone.

Arriving at the Messe

We pull up at the right access point – Eingang City on Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage, the Torhaus or the Portalhaus – or outside your hotel in the Europaviertel, Bockenheim or the Westend. Name the hall or the hotel and the driver heads for the nearest gate.

For exhibitors loaded with sample cases and display material, the drive to the hall is the least complicated part of build-up day. The driver unloads; you walk to the stand with your pass.

What waits at the exhibition grounds

Messe Frankfurt is one of the largest exhibition sites anywhere: twelve halls around the historic Festhalle of 1909, connected by the Via Mobile, plus the Kap Europa congress centre. The calendar runs from the Frankfurt Book Fair through Ambiente and Heimtextil to Light + Building, ISH and Automechanika.

Next door lies the Europaviertel with the Skyline Plaza and a dense cluster of hotels; the banking quarter and the city centre are minutes away across the Taunusanlage. If you have an evening free, Sachsenhausen and the Museumsufer are an easy hop.

Notes for your stay at the fair

Book the build-up day transfer earlier than seems necessary – during set-up and breakdown the area around the halls runs on its own traffic scheme and access windows. We know the usual diversions, but we need your hall number to aim at the right gate.

If you are staying several days, book the return leg at the same time. Vehicles across Rhine-Main get scarce on departure days, because the entire fair heads for the airport within the same few hours.

Comparison

Transfer, taxi or train from Messe Frankfurt?

The rank at the terminal puts you in a queue with exactly the same trade visitors heading for the same halls, and the total is only known when you arrive. The S-Bahn to Messe station works well but involves a change and is awkward with roller cases and sample crates at peak times. A rental car mainly buys you a parking problem in the Europaviertel for the length of the fair. A fixed-price transfer is holding a sign in arrivals, the amount was agreed before you landed, and the car stops at your hall's entrance.

Timing

When to set off from Messe Frankfurt

For the 16 km to Frankfurt your driver allows around 16 minutes of actual driving plus roughly 15 minutes of buffer for rush hour, roadworks and the terminal approach. To make a Schengen flight, that means leaving Messe Frankfurt about 2 h 31 min before departure; for long-haul and non-Schengen, about 3 h 31 min.

You do not have to do that arithmetic yourself. Enter your departure time and address and the booking form proposes the pickup time — driving time, buffer and terminal lead are already inside it. If you would rather leave earlier, overwrite the suggestion.

In the other direction the arithmetic disappears anyway: for an airport pickup the time hangs on your flight number, not the clock. Your driver tracks the actual landing, and 60 minutes of waiting from touchdown are included.

What's included

What the price covers on this route

The fixed price for Messe Frankfurt – Frankfurt Airport covers all 16 km, plus tolls and road charges en route, the airport access and short-stay parking at pickup. What you pay is settled before you book — there is no meter and no surcharge that only appears as you get out.

The price is independent of the clock as well. The same route costs the same at three in the morning as on a Wednesday afternoon, the same on public holidays as on working days, and there is no demand surcharge during trade fairs. The only things that move it are ones you choose: a stop along the way, a larger vehicle class, or the return leg.

Every passenger is welcome — regardless of background, gender, identity or orientation; our drivers are explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly. Pets travel when the species and size are noted at booking, and guide and assistance dogs with no notice and no surcharge.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does the transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt take?

The drive from Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt takes about 16 minutes for 16 km in normal traffic. That is measured from the meeting point inside the terminal, not from touchdown.

Where does my driver meet me at Terminal 1 or 3?

The meeting point is the arrivals hall of your terminal — your driver stands just beyond the customs exit holding a name sign and walks you to the vehicle. The terminal follows from the flight number you give when booking, and a diversion to 1 or 3 still gets you found.

What happens if my flight is delayed?

Pickup is linked to your flight number and shifts automatically with the actual landing time — at no extra charge. 60 minutes of waiting are included after touchdown so baggage reclaim and passport control are covered.

How much is a transfer from Frankfurt Airport to Messe Frankfurt?

The fixed price for the 16 km route is shown in the booking form before you book and never changes afterwards — regardless of traffic, time of day, weekday or how long the drive actually takes. It depends on the vehicle class and the distance, not on a meter.

What does the fixed price include?

It covers the 16 km drive, tolls and road charges en route, airport fees, and 60 minutes of waiting from the landing time. The price only moves for things you choose yourself — a stop along the way, a larger vehicle class or a return leg — and each is shown in the form before you confirm.

Does the ride cost more at night or on public holidays?

The fixed price applies whatever the clock says: Messe Frankfurt – Frankfurt Airport costs the same at three in the morning as on a Wednesday afternoon. There is no night, weekend or holiday surcharge, and no demand pricing during trade fairs. Booking and driving run 24/7.

How much luggage fits in each vehicle?

The sedan classes take 4 large suitcases plus 2 cabin bags; the Business Van takes 12 suitcases plus 5 cabin bags for up to 8 passengers. Declare oversized items such as skis, a golf bag or a pushchair when booking so the right class is dispatched.

Is this a taxi or a chauffeur service?

This is a chauffeur service: the journey is booked in advance, the price is fixed before you book and no meter runs. Your driver wears a suit, greets you by name and helps with the luggage — in the Business and First Class categories it is a limousine service with a Mercedes E- or S-Class. You hail a taxi at a rank; a chauffeur waits for you at the terminal with a name sign. That makes the transfer the fixed-price alternative to a Frankfurt Airport taxi for Messe Frankfurt.

Transfer or train from Messe Frankfurt?

The train is cheaper per person, the transfer per vehicle — with two travellers and luggage the comparison usually flips. The transfer covers the 16 km in about 16 minutes with no changes and ends at your address rather than a station; travelling alone with hand luggage and a good connection, the train is often the better call.

Can I travel with a dog or a cat?

Pets are welcome. State the species and size when booking so the right vehicle class is dispatched for Messe Frankfurt — small animals travel in a carrier in the footwell, larger dogs in the load area of a van. Guide dogs and assistance dogs travel in every vehicle, with no advance notice and no surcharge.

Can I pay the driver by card?

Card payment is accepted directly in the vehicle — as is cash or paying online in advance, and business customers can be invoiced. You receive a receipt with VAT shown either way.

Can I travel with an infant or child seat?

A child seat, booster or infant carrier is selected during booking and fitted by the driver before pickup. State the child's age so the correct size group is installed.

Can I book this transfer for someone else?

The booking runs in the passenger's name rather than the payer's — your guest, client or family member is met at the terminal with a name sign. Payment and the receipt stay with you. Add the passenger's flight number and mobile so flight tracking and contact both work.

Who is the service for?

Every passenger is welcome — regardless of background, gender, identity or orientation. Our drivers are explicitly LGBTQ+ friendly: couples, families of every shape, women travelling alone and guests who need assistance are driven with exactly the same matter-of-factness as anyone else. Discretion is part of a chauffeur service in any case.
